Coverage - Broadcast Monitoring Overview
Broadcast Monitoring Overview
Cision partners with TV Eyes for its Broadcast content, which seamlessly integrates clips into the platform to exist alongside your online and print news in searches, dashboards, alerts, newsletters, and reports. It is important to note that your Cision contract must include Broadcast monitoring to see this type of content in your Cision system.
With this partnership, it is possible for Cision to bring in broadcast content for the following geographic regions for its clients. Your Cision contract will determine what regional broadcasts among these can be brought into your platform. If you have questions about your contract or what it contains, reach out to your Cision Account Executive.
US television coverage includes networks and their affiliates in all 210 Nielson television markets as well as dozens of cable networks.
US radio coverage includes major networks and 50 top local stations.
Canadian coverage includes more than 280 Radio stations and over 130 television channels (in English and French).
UK coverage is from 100 local, regional and national TV and Radio channels.
Middle East coverage includes translation from Arabic speech to English text.
When Broadcast hits come into your system, you will receive a default stream of the related video or audio. You can use the audio/video stream to watch, edit, or save clips within the Cision platform. When editing clips, you will also have the option to create links that can be used to share the clip across your organization (for the first 30 days following the mention). Clips can be viewed in alerts, newsletters, and reports. You will also receive viewership numbers for each television clip and corresponding ad equivalency information.
Cision pulls in content after it airs and you can view videos/audio up to 30 days past the air date. After 30 days, the default video/audio stream content is unavailable, but the data associated with the clip (title, publication information, date, sentiment, and other metrics) will still be searchable in Cision. Additionally, if you edit and archive your own clip from the default stream, the edited video clip will be available to view forever.
If you do not yet have Broadcast and are interested in learning more, reach out to your Cision Account Executive to discuss pricing.
Broadcast Clip Creation
When broadcast mentions enter your Next Generation Cision Communications Cloud, you will automatically receive the related video or audio stream of your brand mention. This default stream is available in your platform for 30 days following the airing. After that time, the default stream provided will go away leaving the data associated with the hit (title, outlet information, sentiment, reach, etc) unless you have saved your own video/audio clip. Additionally, during the first 30 days following the airing, you have the option to create your own clip from the default stream and then share it with others within your organization or save it for perpetuity (unless purposefully deleted). Follow the directions below to take advantage of the option to create and save or share the clip. If you have Broadcast monitoring as part of your Cision contact, no additional cost or package is required to save or share clips.
Finding Broadcast Content to Clip
To Broadcast hits within the last 30 days for which you can create clips,
Click the Analytics tab on the toolbar.
Select the Dashboards option.
Find the Total Mentions chart.
If you have multiple Analytics Dashboards or Total Mentions Charts, you will want to verify that the monitoring search being used to create that chart is the one for which you want to see broadcast hits.
Because clips can be created for content from the last 30 days, you will want to be sure the chart shows mentions for this time period.
If your Total Mentions chart indicates a different period of time, click the date option at the bottom left of the widget or use the master date range option underneath to select the Last 30 Day range.
Click on the Total Mentions from the Last 30 Days. This will show you a list of news articles and broadcast hits.
When the Total Mentions appear, you will see a trend of the mentions at the top of the page and the list of all articles and mentions from the last 30 days at the bottom. Scroll to bring the list of articles and mentions in view. Click the Filter by option and select broadcast specific options. This will cause the list to be filtered to show only broadcast mentions.
Find the broadcast mention for which you want to create a clip, click on the Headline or article snippet. This action will open the mention profile card with the related video/audio stream that can be edited.
