Use Instant Insights to display and compare data from your chosen Mention Streams
Cision One’s Instant Insights tool allows you to create and save customized dashboards so that you can display and compare data from your chosen Mention Streams in a variety of interactive charts and tables. Instant Insights Dashboards can be used to track ongoing issues in real-time and to produce tailored monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc campaign reports for your stakeholders in CSV, PDF and HTML formats.
Creating a new Insights Dashboard
To create a new Instant Insights Dashboard or access an existing Dashboard, select Instant Insights from the main menu or click on the 'Create Instant Insights' Action Button via Launchpad.
Select the Mention Stream drop-down menu.
Choose the Mention Streams you’d like to analyze and compare by selecting the check boxes next to the Mention Stream names. You can select up to 12 by using the search bar or toggle function.
Once you are happy with your selections, click ‘Confirm’ and the Dashboard will update to reflect your preferences. Or, if you prefer to keep things simple, you can select a single Mention Stream to focus on.
Now that you have chosen your preferred Mention Streams, use the toggle function within the drop-down menu below to select the Media Types that you wish to include in your Instant Insights Charts and click Confirm.
These selections will apply to all of the Mention Streams you are comparing for consistency. You can clear these at any time using the reset button at the bottom left.
A full list of the available Instant Insights charts is here.
Use your mouse to hover over and click on different data points. TIP The Graph Icon indicates that you can view the coverage associated with the Chart. You can also click on the Information Icon to view the chart methodology.

Using the scrollable box, look for and then select the chart you’d like to add to the dashboard.
When adding charts, you’ll be given the option to select:

To complete the process, click Confirm.
Adjust the Date Range for your Instant Insights Dashboard by clicking on the Calendar icon on the actions row at the top of the dashboard.
You can choose a suggested Date Range from the left panel, use the date picker or the drop-down menu to select a specific timeframe, and then click ‘Set.’
You have the option to Group Syndications within your Insights Dashboard via the toggle.
By selecting this option, all syndicated news items will be grouped and counted under the original news item across all charts.
You can create multiple Insights Dashboards by clicking the + Icon on the Tab beside the Insight you are viewing and selecting Create New.
To re-order your charts, click on Edit Dashboard at the top of the dashboard. You’ll be able to edit the name of the dashboard there too.
Chart-level settings
You can make changes to the charts, by clicking the three dots button at the top right of the chart widget.
You can now generate an XLSX or PDF for an individual chart without generating the entire Instant Insights report. To do this, click the three dots in the top right corner of the chart widget and select Generate XLSX or Generate PDF.
Selecting and comparing different Mention Streams
On Share of Voice charts, you can select additional Mention Streams to be used for individual charts. You can select a maximum of 20 Mention Streams.
On Earned V Social charts, you can choose which Earned Social Streams to compare data for.
On Mentions Benchmark charts, you can select a maximum of 10 Mention Streams to analyze across two separate timeframes.
Empty State Charts
You can add Key Messages, Streams, or Google Analytics data to empty charts by clicking the Integrate, Select, or Add buttons for the chart you'd like to see data for.
Saving your Insights Dashboard
If you find yourself viewing or generating the same Instant Insights on a regular basis you can name and save your Insights Dashboards via the Save Icon.
Saved Dashboards are only visible to the user who created them unless you decide to share them with another CisionOne user within your organization.
Accessing your Saved Insights Dashboard
Click the + Icon on the Tab beside the Insights Dashboard you are viewing.
Select Add Existing to open your saved dashboards.
Select the Saved Dashboard you wish to view.
Sharing your Insights Dashboard
Once saved, you can share your Insights Dashboard with your colleagues using the "share" button in the bottom right corner.
This will allow you to select teams or individuals that you would like to share the dashboard with. Make sure to confirm when you’re happy with your selections.
Once a dashboard is shared, your colleagues will automatically receive updates when you make changes to the dashboard.
Share access is read-only, which means that the person you share your Dashboard with won't be able to make changes to the Dashboard you shared.
TIP: Your colleague will receive an email letting them know that you've shared an Insights Dashboard with them.
Dashboards that have been shared are indicated with a share icon next to the label.
Generating Reports from your Insights Dashboard
Select the Dashboard you would like to generate a report for.
Click ‘Generate PDF’ in the bottom right-hand corner of the Dashboard. You can customize the PDF by editing the Title, adding a Summary, or using a Brand Profile and choose the language you’d like to generate the PDF into.
If you have used custom date ranges on individual charts, the date ranges will be reflected in the PDF Report within each chart’s description.
Once the Report has been generated, you can access the PDF or HTML report via the Reports Tab.
The arrow next to Generate PDF is where we can generate an XLSX download.
You can easily share the interactive HTML link by copying the URL into an email or directly into Slack, Microsoft Teams, or Workplace.
